Forest Research Institute (FRI)
Established as Imperial Forest Research Institute in 1906, FRI Dehradun is a premier institution under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE). Its one of the best research institutes with a vast extensive museum in its premises displaying a wide range of diverse botanical specimens. The museum can be visited from Monday to Friday where one can witness the innumerable species of vegetation on the Earth.
State Museum is near the bus stand. If you are planning to visit this place then keep it in mind that it remains closed on Mondays and on other Government Holidays. It opens on other days from 10:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
The Wadia Institute is 5 kms uphill from the clock tower, on General Mahadev Singh road, presents as an off route nature tour in Dehradun. The institute houses a unique museum of the Uttarakhand glaciers.
