Abbot Mount

Abbot Mount is situated 8 kms. away from Lohaghat is approximately at a height of 2001 mtrs. A true peaceful and less exploited destination, Abbot is a right place to visit for excursion and trekking. On the hill top of Abbot two places which are of utmost attraction is the picturesque and beautiful church set and an old cricket pitch.
Nearest railway station is Kathgodam which is 163 Kms from here. The nearest airport is at Pantnagar. If you are coming by road from Delhi, you can take NH 24 to Rampur via Moradabad and then NH 87 to Rudrapur via Bilaspur. From Rudrapur, NH 125 leads to Marorakhan via Champawat and Lohaghat from where a state highway will lead to Abbott Mount.

Bhimtal is an ancient place named after the legendary Bhima of Mahabharata when Bhima visited the place during the exile period of pandavas. Bhim tal is older than the town of Nainital and is considered as one of the best excursions of Nainital.
The main attraction in Bhimtal is the Bhimtal Lake which has a small island at its centre. Bhim Tal is well connected with Kathgodam and all Kumaon regions and Nepal. It is an unsolved mystery but this place might have been the part of the ancient silk route of China.

Chamba is situated 60 Kms from Mussoorie at an elevation of 1676 mts above the sea level. It is located at a junction of roads connecting Mussoorie and Rishikesh with the Tehri Dam reservoir and New Tehri. Chamba is one of the brightest spots of Tehri Garhwal offering one of the most spectacular views of snow capped Himalayas and the enchanting Bhagirathi valley. There are pleasant forests of pine and Deodar trees, with some good views. This place is fairly quiet and picturesque, hence an excellent place to relax and wash off the city blues.
One can reach Chamba in about 7-8 Hrs from Delhi via Hardwar, Rishikesh and Narendranagar (290 km).
