Aditya Singh Rajput
Aditya Singh Rajput (Addy) started his career at a very early age of 17. Since then he never looked back and till now he has almost featured in 125 TV commercials, 4 Hindi debut movies all directed by known National Award winner Directors. His 3rd movie, Krantiveer - the revolution, is about to release on 25-Jun-2010 where he is playing as a very strong revolutionary with romance running parallel with that character.
I started working at the age of 17. I was born and brought up in Delhi even though my grand parents have roots in Uttarakhand. Mine is a typical middle class family. My parents are both retired. I have one elder sister who initially after marriage stayed in Sahibabad, UP but later on moved to Atlanta USA. My mom is now a days here with me in Mumbai. In particular she is here to support at a crucial juncture of my career. My Movie Krantiveer is going to release this Friday (25-Jun-2010).
I am very attached to my family. Though I have been to many places round the globe but I love to be in my own country, India and I am grateful to almighty for whatever I have in my life .
As far as academics are concerned, I was a bright student. I studied in Green Fields and was a topper. After passing 12th standard I cleared a number of entrance exams but destiny had something else written for me and now I am here in Mumbai.
I am just 24 yrs and that is primarily the reason why I am liked by the college crowd. I perform in college shows. I like the love and response I get from college crowd. I am a funky guy who loves to enjoy every moment of his life.
I am not married but I am right now going around with a girl since last 10 months. She is one of the best people I have met. Her presence makes me feel more confident and happy.
I like spending my time with my dear ones. I am crazy about surfing net, going for long drives and as far as my hobby is concerned I am a part time photographer. If someday we get chance to meet in Mumbai then definitely I am going to show you my rare collection of photography.
I have tried to be a good singer but I can only sing on screen where you just have to move your lips and rest of the things are taken care by background singers (laughs)
Journey and struggle
For me it was never a struggle but a wonderful journey, which is still on. Since day one I have enjoyed every moment of my work. Initially it was my hobby, which later became my profession.
I started my career from Delhi walking on ramps. Soon I started getting calls for commercials.
One day I participated in Hero screen test and was lucky to get selected for Hero Honda Ad with Hrithik Roshan and Saurav Ganguly. Mahesh Bhat and Raj Kaushal were the judges. For that I went to Mumbai and also gave auditions for other commercials. One day I decided to stay in Mumbai for couple of months just to try my luck and soon I started getting work. That's how I started my career at a very early age of 17.
If you ask about TV serials then I have not done any but yes I have done one show for Pogo Television. Actually it was a show for kids, CIA (CAMBALA Investigation Agencies), which later became a big hit among kids. In that I played a role of Rohit. One of the main characters of that show. I had great time working with kids and it was really a different type of experience.
Long time back I also did one short movie by Madhur Bhandarkar for television and the name of the movie was 'Shivani'. Apart from this I have also done couple of Tamil movies like 'Boys and Girls' and others.
Yes I have done lots of TV Ads. To be precise till now I have done more than 125 ads among which the main ones are Close Up, BSNL 2Mbps, Amul Kool Cafe, T-Series Mobile, Coke with Aamir Khan, Hero Honda with Hrithik Roshan, DISHTV with Sharukh Khan.
"Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara" movie
Oh that was my Hindi debut which I did when I was just 19. I am very lucky that in my first movie I got a chance to work with Anupam Kher and Urmila Matondkar. I played the role of Anupam Kher's son and Urmila was my elder sister in the movie.
I got that movie through my friend Hemant. Hemant was assisting Jahnu Barua (Director) in that movie. Anupam Kher ji was the Producer. With my friend's recommendation I got a call for audition . It was a great experience working with Jahnu and Anupan ji. In fact Anupan ji was my guru throughout and I learnt a lot from him.
The movie did well and Anupam ji received critical acclaim for his performance and won a Special Jury Award at the National Film Awards while Urmila won Bollywood Movie Award - Best Actress for her performance.
Other cast were Rajit Kapur, Parvin Dabas, Prem Chopra ji, Boman Irani, Vishwaas Paandya and Nazneen Ghani.
After this movie I did another Hindi called "You Me and Hum" directed by Ajay Devgan. I played the role of Ajay Devgan and Kajol's son and also got chance to work with Sumeet Raghvan, Nikhil, Divya Dutta, Hazel Croney, Isha Sharvani, Karan Khanna, Anita Wahi and Aumckar.
"KRANTIVEER - the revolution" movie
I got Krativeer directly when I met Mehul ji in one of the shows. That time he was looking for one person who could play that role in his movie. He called me for audition and I got selected and this is how I got the chance to be a part of this movie.
In this movie I am playing the role of Goldie, one of the main characters of the movie, who belongs to a very rich family. He is sweet, down to earth guy who loves one girl named Roshani. Jahan Bloch is playing this role but unfortunately she is in love with another guy. The guy (Goldie) after knowing this becomes anti but it's not a villainous character. Soon everything gets settled and they both unite. I will not say it's a love triangle kind of movie but its more than this.
The film revolves around the problems faced by our society in particular. Corruption, terrorism, bad politics are the aspects the film concentrates on. These are the issues that unite the lead characters of the movie and its all about how they use the electronic media as a perfect weapon . It was nice working with Mehul Kumar ji. Prior to the film, I used to hear a lot about how strict and short tempered person he is . However, I found him to be a totally different person.
Not only I, we all are expecting good from this movie. During promo Nana Patekar ji and Amitabh Bacchan ji were with us and they both blessed us for the success.
I am excited about my club birthday number, 'Chote Tera Birthday Aaya' sung by Mika and Hard Kaur. Sameer ji has written this song and Chiini Prakash ji has choreographed it. It has already become a hit club song. Besides I have a very strong role in movie, lets see how the audience takes it!
Well, right now I am shooting for a couple of movies in which I will be playing different roles but right now I can't talk much about them. Once it will be over I will definitely share it with you.
I won't say that I have achieved something in my life because if I will think so then the spirit to do more inside me will die. There are lot many things to do and this is just the starting but I feel lucky that at such young age I have done 4 Hindi and a couple of Tamil movies. All the directors with whom I worked were National Award winners and it was great experience with lots of learning.
Words for fans
I love them all and hope that they will be loving me and supporting me the way they have been doing till now. I am not too old person to give 'wise saying' but what I will say to everybody is to enjoy life to the fullest . Keep up your hard work and definitely you will see the results.
Which place do you like most in Uttarakhand and why?
For me all the places in Uttarakhand are worth visiting. Although I was born and brought up in Delhi, I never miss any chance to be in Uttarakhand. I am very 'desi' kind of person. I am quite different in real life from what you see of me in front of the camera. I love to stay close to the mother nature. I like to be in place such as Mussoorrie and Nainital. There are lot many places where I have visited and can't forget that experience.
It's a very impressive website. I really liked the way you all guys have put it Live. I am happy to see that it speaks about young generation of the State and gives them a good exposure and I am happy to be a part of such wesite.
