Tell us about yourself.

Hi myself Lavanya, I did schooling from one of the school of Dehradun and I am perusing my graduation from National College, Bombay. I belong to a Brahmin family and have grown with strong moral values. My father is a lawyer and practice in high and civil court. My mom was a teacher but now she is a housewife. I have one elder brother and sister. I am the youngest in my home. Few months back I shifted to Mumbai.

Lavanya tell me what exactly has inspired you to come to this glamour world? Have you ever faced any objection from your family?

Objection!! Objection word sounds funny to me because my family is so supportive. I feel blessed and lucky to have such a lovely family, who love me so much and are always there to support me when I need them, but at the same time they correct me when I am wrong, my journey begin with miss UA pageant, luckily I was the winner but that competition made me even more greedy for fame. I wanted a bigger platform for myself I wanted a wider stage for me where I can show my talent. I got a chance to perform in a serial called, ”ssshhh koi hai”. I started at quite an early age. I won the competition when I was 17yrs old, and did that serial in the same age, then crew member praised me so much and suggested me that I should move on to Mumbai.

As a model what you think is missing in Uttarakhand in terms of modeling?

Well, Uttarakhand is a beautiful place and full of pretty faces but as we say all that glitter is not gold and in this industry face is not the only thing which matters, we see many beautiful faces in Mumbai, so I think models need to concentrate more on their talent then their looks.

Lavanya you won Miss Uttarakhand 2006 title. Tell us what all hindrances and obstacles you faced to reach this point of your destiny?

It was a wonderful experience , I got to learn lots of thing in that competition, it was my first time when walked the ramp, and their weren’t any obstacles, I was some how very confident about myself, and I guess that’s what is still doing wonders for me.

Lavanya how the family members and your friends takes you after you have become Ms. Uttarakhand 2006?

Ah, they all were very happy and excited for me, in fact my dad threw a party. My family and friends were really proud of me.

Lavanya, if in future you become a super model, what will you do for your land Uttarakhand?

I would promote new talent from all over Uttarakhand and help them in whatever way I can, and would like to open some educational institute n educate those who cannot afford to pay heavy fees. I want to start some charitable hospitals and clinic where in the people can get their treatment done for free.

Lavanya you have got such a charming face. Please tell us what all diet habits you follow to keep glooming like this?

My diet habits, I myself done follow a diet chart but then I make sure that I drink loads of water and do Pranayam in the morning and most important take off my makeup before going to sleep.

Ok if given an opportunity would you like to join film industry or will continue as a Model?

Yes I want to do movies, but before that I want to do theater and improve and polish my acting skills. I want to enter into this industry with full preparation. I have already been getting offers for movies.

Lavanya, till now in which all promos, serials and movies you have worked on?

Well I have shot for many commercial and prints but right now not interested in doing serials. I have shot for FAIR N LOVELY, POLO XTRONG MINT, BINANI CEMENT (with Amitabh ji), CHIK SHAMPOO, RMKV SAREES ( it’s a south leading brand), and my latest adds are I10 CAR and EMAMI CHWANPRASH (with SHAHRUKH KHAN) was CHANNEL (V) GET GORGEOUS 5 FINALIST and prints for: COKE, FUTURE GENRALI, VIRGIN CAFÉ, GODREJ, and many more south brands.

Uttarakhand is not just about mountains, rivers, and natural beauty but it also has a very enthusiastic and confident youth who are going to raise Uttarakhand on a different level in the long run.
